Southampton head to the Grecians to close out the FA Women's National League Division One South West season.

On Sunday, Southampton Women's FC make the long trek to Devon where they will take on Exeter City in the final game of the league season.

With every other game complete in the league it is down to Southampton and the Grecians to see out the season.

Both teams are looking to end the season on a high with Southampton currently sitting in third with Exeter just two points behind.

Aaron Smith's side will make the 230 mile round trip off the back of a fantastic April.

The Reds picked up 13 points out of a possible 15 as they won four games and drew one, they scored 16 goals in the process.

Goals were shared around the team as Hannah Samuels and Summer Kilby opened their accounts for the club during the recent wins over Poole Town and Larkhall Athletic.

April was slightly different for tomorrow's hosts who began the month losing 3-1 to Cheltenham Town a result that put the Robins in the driving seat for promotion.

In the next two games, Exeter scored 12 as they recorded impressive wins over Poole and AFC Bournemouth.

Top goalscorer Connie Pengelly was in fine form in those two games as she scored five including a hat-trick against the Dolphins.

Pengelly has had a great season scoring 25 goals in 27 games although despite the high scoring games it wasn't the case when they faced Torquay United in the Devonshire County Cup final.

A last minute goal for Torquay sent the game to penalties where The Gulls were the winners on the night.

The two sides have met twice earlier this season both at Arlebury Park.

A 98th Mollie Taylor goal ensured Exeter returned to Devon with a point after Sian Wylie and Britt Jeal had put Southampton ahead after going a goal down.

Three months after that the two teams met in the FA Cup and it was Exeter who came away victorious with a 3-0 win just before the Christmas break.

It will be an entertaining game between two good footballing sides who lacked consistency at times to truly mount a bid for the title and promotion.
