The SDFA Cup final awaits Southampton in the last game of the season

Aaron Smith's Southampton will take on the under-23s of Southampton FC Women in the final of the Southampton District FA Cup on Monday, 9th May.

The two sides will meet at AFC Totton's Snows Stadium the home of the Southampton FC Women First Team.

For the Saints' u23s side they have already picked up a league and cup double in the National League Reserves and are eyeing up a third trophy.

It was a debut season for Saints in the Reserve set-up and they dropped points on just one occasion, a 1-1 draw with Bridwater United Development.

They have been a formidable force alongside the First Team and five of the u23s squad have appeared at least once this season for Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side.

The u23s haven't played a competitive fixture for a month though, their last game being the semi-final win over Eastleigh.

It was an emphatic win for the Saints, Kaylee Buckingham scored a hat-trick as the youngsters ran out 11-0 winners over Eastleigh.

For Smith's Southampton, they will be looking to bounce back from last Sunday's final day of the league season.

A solitary goal for Exeter City saw them leapfrog Southampton into third.

It was an even game that in places looked to be heading for a draw until Connie Pengelly popped up to slot home.

Before last week the Reds had been on a nine game unbeaten run in all competitions scoring 28 goals in the process.

That run included the 2-0 win over the Reserves, E-J May and Lauren Cheshire the scorers in a tightly contested game at Alresbury Park.

Southampton have goals across the team with only one regular member of the First Team yet to score.

Monday night's final will take place at AFC Totton's Snows Stadium with kick-off at 7:30pm.

It is expected to be a huge battle on the pitch as youth take on experience in the final game of a long season.

Spectators can pay of the gate with entry priced at Adults £6, Concessions £3, and under-12s free.
