Sara Luce said she is 'excited' and want to contribute to the rich history of Southampton Women's FC after she moved across the city to join the Reds.

The Jersey born goalkeeper has been at Southampton FC Women for the past four seasons and has been part of the squad that has won three league titles as they moved from Hampshire County Division to the Championship.

Following her short move from local rivals Saints Luce said: "I feel excited. The club has big ambitions like my own, and since being here all the girls are so understanding and supportive, you can feel the family vibes.

"But also, to be a part of this club with a rich history feels good and I hope I can contribute in some way.

"I’ve known about the club for a few years now and know a couple of the girls at the club and they have nothing but positive things to say about the setup, ambitions of the club, players and staff.

"Hearing how players and staff look out for each other was a big selling point for me.

"I would say I like to be a proactive keeper. I’m vocal and like to support the team with lots of encouragement but also support with the ball at my feet around the back."
