Southampton Women's FC can confirm that captain Lauren Cheshire sustained a broken arm and dislocate wrist during Sunday's 2-0 win against Keynsham Town.

The skipper is expected to have an operation on her arm and is currently awaiting a date to be set.

We would like to thank everyone who assisted with Cheshire on the day at the ground and in the hospital.

The club will be providing their full support to Cheshire throughout her recovery and look forward to seeing her return to the pitch in due course.
