Southampton Women’s FC are delighted to welcome Jack Chamberlain back to the club, with Jack joining Aaron Smith’s staff as First Team Goalkeeper Coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Jack returns to the Sirens with an impressive and growing coaching CV, having gained experience within both the men’s and women’s game.

Having spent time within a Premier League academy during his youth career, Jack went on to play semi-professional football between 2020 and 2022 before turning his attention towards coaching.

He is already a familiar face at Southampton Women’s FC, having previously worked with the Sirens as Assistant Goalkeeper Coach during the 2023/24 season. He then continued his development within coaching, working with Southampton FC’s development setup during the 2024/25 season.

Jack’s career took another significant step forward last season when he joined Colchester United, spending the 2025/26 campaign as Assistant First Team Goalkeeper Coach with the League Two club. During his time at Colchester, he also stepped up to cover the role of Head of Academy Goalkeeping for a two-month period, adding further experience to his coaching background.

Alongside his work within clubs, Jack launched his own specialist goalkeeper coaching business, JCGK Coaching, in 2025. Initially operating in Suffolk, the business is now expanding into Southampton as Jack continues to develop the next generation of goalkeepers.

After returning to Southampton FC’s development setup for the 2026/27 season, Jack will now also link back up with the Sirens, joining Smithy’s first-team staff as the club targets a successful campaign.

Speaking about his return, Jack said:

“Returning to the club is a very special feeling for me, especially as we look to get the Sirens back to where we believe we belong.

“I’m really looking forward to the season ahead. Once I had the call with Smithy and heard about the project and the direction the club is heading in, I was sold.

“Having spent last season as Assistant First Team Goalkeeper Coach at Colchester United in League Two, alongside running my own goalkeeper coaching business, JCGK Coaching, I’m excited to bring those experiences back with me.

“This is a great opportunity for both myself and the club. We’re heading into the season with promotion as the aim, so now it’s about putting the work in and doing everything we can to achieve it.”

First Team Manager Aaron Smith believes Jack’s addition is already having a positive impact on the squad and, in particular, the Sirens’ goalkeepers.

Smith said:

“Having someone with Jack’s knowledge and ability at the club is a huge asset. His sessions have been perfect for our goalkeepers and I’m already seeing improvements in both of them, even after just a few weeks.

“Jack doesn’t just bring experience to the role; he also brings a calm head and composure to the group, which is incredibly valuable.

“I’m so happy to have Jack as part of the team and I know our goalkeeper union is now, quite literally, in safe hands.”

Jack’s appointment further strengthens the Sirens’ first-team coaching setup ahead of the new campaign, bringing specialist goalkeeping knowledge, professional-level experience and a familiar face back into the club.
