Last weekend Southampton welcomed signing number eight as former AFC Bournemouth player Katie Kingshott to the side.
Her experience playing for Chelsea's Academy and Watford in the Women's Super League 2 (now Championship) was a key factor for manager Aaron Smith when bringing in the versatile player.
Kingshott missed out on her debut against Cardiff City but featured in the midweek friendly against Tanzania under-17s.
She is now likely to feature with fixtures coming thick and fast for Smith's side with six games awaiting Southampton in October with league and cup matches lined up.
On joining Southampton Kingshott said: "I’m extremely excited to be joining such a fantastic team with a dedicated coaching staff and the warmest bunch of players.
"I know we all say 'they’ve been so welcoming' when we sign for a new club, but these girls have just treated me like one of their own instantly, and it made joining the team the easiest decision for me.
"As previously touched on the players and staff being so welcoming but I had a setback to my confidence back in April with an injury so to then have the club show interest in me even whilst injured, was a big pick me up for me mentally!
"I’m extremely grateful for that and can’t wait to show my appreciation on the pitch.
With plenty of games to get herself stuck into Kingshott is raring to go and show the Southampton fan base what she can do.
She said: "They can definitely expect to hear me, I’ll apologise now if you think I’m too vocal!
"But I hope to bring some support to the defence and add a bit of flare to an already brilliant side going forward."
Up next Southampton have two away games against Portishead Town and Selsey before they return home the following Sunday, October 9th where they will host Swindon Town.
