A familiar face rejoined us in January as the Sirens welcomed back First Team Coach, Matt Graves.
Matt returns for a 3rd time after previously joining the coaching set up as an assistant in 2020 and then, the following season, taking on the role of Reserve Team Manager. After a fairly successful season at the helm of the Reserves, Matt returned home to Sussex in 2022, where he joined Crawley Wasps as a first team coach and then assistant manager.
Matt returned briefly as a first team coach for the Sirens in the 23/24 season before joining Worthing as an assistant coach. This year he had a brief spell with Steyning Town, who we met in the FA Cup, before rejoining us once more as a first team coach.
First team manager, Gav Calder said “We’re delighted to welcome Matt back to the Sirens as a coach. His extensive coaching experience within the women’s game will be invaluable to the club as we move forward.
Club captain, Lucy Mear also added “He brings great enthusiasm and passion to the club and is extremely knowledgeable. He’s always keen to support and help others develop, and his positive attitude makes him a real pleasure to work with. He will be a valuable asset to the club."
Welcome back, Matt.
