The Sirens looking to unfreeze their League Plate progress with an away trip to Hounslow

Southampton Women's FC take on Hounslow in the First Round of the National League Plate Competition on Sunday.

The Tridents were relegated from the FA Women's National League Southern Premier Division and are potentially looking at another relegation battle with a difficult start to life in Tier 4.

Manager Martino Chevannes stayed with the club after rebranding to Hounslow after parting ways with Queens Park Rangers in 2018.

Hounslow have yet to win a game this season and are on a run of nine defeats in all competitions.

They have conceded a staggering 90 goals during that run and have scored just three times their most recent defeat came in the Women's FA Cup at the end of October.

London & South East Regional Women's Division One North side Clapton Community FC ran out 8-1 winners over the Tridents who had a bare 11 out against the Tier 6 side.

It contrasts the form of Aaron Smith's Southampton side who sit in sixth place in the National League Divison One South West.

The Sirens had been on a run of four wins in all competitions until they came unstuck against Southern Premier side London Bees in the FA Cup losing 3-0 in the Second Round.

Smith will have a full selection of the squad to pick from with just Lucy Mear (injury) and Shannon Albuery (cup-tied) missing.

Tomorrow's encounter is the first between the two and the first time in the League Plate for Southampton who already know the possible opposition for the Second Round.

The game has been moved to a 4G pitch to ensure it takes place and kick-off has been moved back to 3:00pm.

Swindon Town await the winners of tomorrow's fixture with the winners of that tie going through to face either Queens Park Rangers or Billericay Town in the quarter-finals.
