Southampton Women's FC are delighted to welcome Megan Bowen to the Sirens ahead of the new season.

The talented Welsh defender arrives with an impressive footballing résumé, bringing international experience and a wealth of knowledge from the top level of the women's game.

Bowen's journey began on the international stage with Wales Under-15s in 2019 before progressing through the national pathway to represent Wales Under-17s in 2021 and Wales Under-19s during her time at Cardiff City.

At club level, she spent the 2021–22 season with Barry Town United Women before making the move to Cardiff City Women, where she played from 2022 to 2026. During her four years at Cardiff, Bowen made 106 appearances, scored 13 goals, and etched her name into the club's history by converting the winning penalty in the Welsh Cup Final. She also gained invaluable experience competing in the UEFA Women's Champions League, regularly testing herself against some of Europe's strongest opposition.

Now relocating to the south coast to study for a master's degree, Bowen is excited to begin the next chapter of both her academic and footballing journey with the Sirens.

"I'm looking forward to getting started with the team. I've moved down to study a master's degree and this seems like a really good club to play for with good staff and players."

First Team Manager Aaron Smith believes Bowen's arrival will significantly strengthen the squad ahead of the new campaign.

"To have someone of Meg's experience coming into the club is a massive boost for us. She's a player with outstanding quality and brings valuable experience of competing in the UEFA Women's Champions League, where she's consistently performed at the highest level.

"That experience, combined with her professionalism, mentality and versatility, will be a huge asset for our squad. We're excited to see the impact she'll make."
