Katie began playing football at the age of six, with the game remaining a major part of her life for the past 20 years. She has represented several clubs throughout her career, with her time at Alnwick Town proving particularly significant.

During her spell with the Northumberland side, Katie gained valuable experience competing at Tier 4 and enjoyed the opportunity to play at iconic stadiums including Elland Road and St James’ Park.

At the age of 23, Katie joined the British Army and stepped away from club football for a period. However, she continued playing within the Armed Forces and went on to captain the Infantry team, as well as representing the Army and the Tri-Service side.

Those opportunities have taken Katie around the world and allowed her to continue developing as both a player and a leader while pursuing her military career.

Now returning to club football, Katie is excited to bring her experience, leadership and determination to the Sirens as the team works towards its ambitions for the season ahead.

Speaking about joining Southampton Women’s FC, Katie said:

“I’m really pleased to have signed for the club and I’m looking forward to getting started. From what I’ve seen so far, it’s a really ambitious group with an experienced coaching team. As a No.9, I can’t wait to get out on the pitch, score some goals and work hard for the team. Football has taught me so much about leadership, discipline and, most importantly, being part of a team. I’m excited to bring those experiences back into club football and hopefully play my part in helping the Sirens achieve what we’re aiming for this season.”

First-Team Manager Aaron Smith is pleased to add Katie’s experience and attacking qualities to his squad.

"Katie is a goal scorer. She has shown in training how her strength and power is going to provide us with the vital goals we need to win this league. We have built a good team that creates a lot of opportunities and we hope Katie is the person to start finishing these chances."

Katie adds further leadership, determination and a clear goal threat to the Sirens’ attacking options for the campaign ahead.
