Southampton Women’s FC are delighted to announce the signing of Sky Stone ahead of the new season.
Having started playing football at just three years old, Sky has maintained a strong passion for the game throughout her life. Her footballing journey has included experience both in England and overseas, helping her develop her technical ability and understanding of the game.
During her youth, Sky had the opportunity to play football in Spain, where she was exposed to a different style and culture of football. The experience proved valuable in shaping her as a player before she returned to England to continue her development.
Sky joined Wycombe Wanderers in July 2024, representing the club until February 2025 and gaining further experience within a competitive senior environment. She later continued her playing career with Hitchin FC, remaining with the club until December last season.
Her footballing journey was placed on hold for a period after she joined the British Army. However, Sky’s passion for the sport remained strong, and she has since successfully combined her military career with a return to competitive football.
Sky currently represents the Army Women’s Football Team and featured in the Women’s Inter-Services competition in March this year. Representing the Army has allowed her to continue developing as a player while demonstrating the commitment, discipline and resilience required to balance football with her military career.
She now begins a new chapter with Southampton Women’s FC and is looking forward to bringing her energy, determination and ambition to the Sirens.
Speaking about joining the club, Sky said:
“I’m proud to have signed for this team and grateful for the opportunity to represent the club. I’m ready to work hard and contribute everything I can, both on and off the pitch. I’m looking forward to bringing my energy, determination and ambition to the team, and playing my part in what we hope will be a successful season.”
First-Team Manager Aaron Smith is pleased to add Sky to his squad and believes she will bring valuable qualities to the group.
"Sky brings athleticism to our midfield and has shown her versatility by covering a number of positions throughout pre-season. She also brings fun and smiles to the group, which I love!"
"I am so pleased to welcome Sky to the group and I look forward to seeing what she can offer us."
Sky adds further experience, commitment and determination to the Sirens as the squad continues to build ahead of the league opener against Chesham.
Welcome to Southampton Women’s FC, Sky!
